About Me
Over 30 years volunteering and working to support vulnerable babies, children and young people has cemented my dedication to ensure our children are protected, can flourish and achieve.
Having been a SENCo, run an outstanding specialist provision for young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, and developed outstanding mainstream provision for pupils with SEND, I have spent the last decade focusing on leading and providing support, advice & challenge around Inclusion and SEND to schools on their improvement journey.
Leading safeguarding in a large secondary school in an area with some of the highest deprivation in England, with nearly 8 times the National Average of Child Protection cases, was a baptism of fire, but one that provided an exceptional grounding in all elements of Safeguarding & Child Protection. I have since been responsible for reviewing & developing strategy and practice around Safeguarding and Child Protection across all Key Stages in mainstream and specialist settings, in Local Authorities and Multi-Academy Trusts.
